KRI-DEWARUCI DOCKED AT TANJUNG BRUAS PORT

Tanjung Bruas Port, 30 Jun 2024 – KRI Dewaruci a vessel operated by the Indonesia navy has docked at Tanjung Bruas Port, carrying a mission to strengthen cultural diplomatic relations between two (2) countries through the Muhibah Budaya Jalur Rempah (“MBJR”) 2024. The Kri Dewaruci was welcomed with a warm parade by the Royal Malaysian Navy along with the Indonesian Ambasador to Malaysia, Dato’ Indera Hermono, Director General of Culture of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Hilmar Farid, Indonesian Consul General in Johor Bahru, Sigit Suryantoro Widiyanto, Indonesian Consul General in Penang, Wanton Saragih, Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman, Executive Councilor for Tourism, Heritage and Culture of Melaka, Deputy Executive Councilor Datuk Zaidi Attan, and officials from Kemendikbudristek and the Indonesian representatives in Malaysia. The KRI Dewaruci brings 100 participants and sailors who are engaged in the spice route voyage, starting from Jakarta and proceeding to seven (7) other locations between Malaysia and Indonesia. The ship's route begins in Jakarta, then heads to East Belitung, Dumai, and Sabang in Indonesia before making its way to Melaka, Malaysia. During its stay at Tanjung Bruas Port, KRI Dewaruci welcomed the locals to explore the ship and discover more about its mission.
