COAL OPERATIONS “BURNING” BACK IN TANJUNG BRUAS PORT!
18 December 2024 – After a two-year break, Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (CIMA) has resumed its coal importation via Tanjung Bruas Port. This marks a significant milestone and a warm comeback for CIMA which involve the transportation of 8,200 metric tons of coal, primarily received and sourced from Palembang, Sumatera, with shipments arriving via routes from Kertapati Jetty. The process of transferring coal from barge to warehouse took 4 days, demonstrating the port’s efficiency in cargo handling. From Tanjung Bruas Port, road transport arranged by CIMA will deliver 80 metric tons a day to its manufacturing plant in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan, where the coal will undergo further processing to support production needs. The entire operation is expected to wrap up within 14 days, highlighting the port’s capability to handle large-scale logistics operations efficiently and maintain high standards of service delivery.
